LinkedIn outreach that doesn't read like a template

Hiring managers on LinkedIn are pattern-matching for one thing: is this another templated pitch, or does this person actually understand my hiring problem? Most staffing outreach fails the test in the first line.

What actually signals relevance

  • Reference a specific, recent signal — a job posting, a headcount announcement, a tech-stack detail — rather than a generic "I help companies like yours hire."
  • Lead with a concrete result tied to their niche (a time-to-fill number, a placement in a comparable role), not a company boilerplate.
  • Ask a real question instead of pushing a call booking link in the first message.

Sequencing matters more than volume

A short, well-timed three-message sequence with genuine gaps between touches consistently outperforms a high-volume single blast. Reply rate is a better signal to optimize for than send volume.

RESPONSE WINDOW: <15 MIN
